An export logistics platform in anticipation of the opening of the “Debdeb” border post
ILLIZI – The public group of land transport of goods and logistics (Logitrans) plans to set up a logistics platform in the wilaya of Illizi dedicated to exports in anticipation of the opening of the land border post “Debdeb” to commercial traffic, as part of efforts to promote the Algerian product on the African market, we learned on Saturday from the president and CEO of the group, Boualem Kini.
On the sidelines of his visit to the wilaya, accompanied by a delegation made up of economic partners, Mr. Kini said that
the group strives to guarantee all the conditions necessary for the establishment of a logistics platform for export, at the level of this border region, with the objective of facilitating the movement of Algerian goods to the African continent, and help attract investment, an encouraging factor for exporters, in particular by providing a significant portion of the costs of logistics services.
In the same vein, the same official said he was “satisfied” with the state of the road network and the infrastructure available to the wilaya of Illizi, which, according to him, “contributes to logistics performance”.
As part of the implementation of this strategic approach, the group intends to take advantage of local human capacities, as well as the conclusion of agreements with the university in order to invest in scientific qualifications, particularly in the disciplines required by group activity.

For his part, the president of the Confederation of Algerian Industrialists and Producers (CIPA), Abdelwahab Ziani, welcomed the efforts made to improve the investment climate in this border wilaya, calling in the same context for the need to orient towards manufacturing industries as a “strategic choice for the development of the national economy”.
Ziani, on this occasion, highlighted the economic prospects that should be achieved by opening the land border post “Debdeb” by relaunching the commercial dynamic in the region, the promotion of investments in a way to guarantee the currency and the increase in the value of national non-hydrocarbon exports.
The delegation, accompanied by local authorities, inquired during the two-day visit about the preparations underway at the “Debdeb” border post.
She also visited the business area in Illizi commune, which occupies an area of 44 hectares with more than 130 plots of land.
This area has benefited from a vast rehabilitation operation for an amount of 250 million dinars.
